Handle Length

Our Damascus Steel Gut Hook Hunting Knife W/ Stag Handle is a very unique handmade blade. This knife was forged by forge welding multiple layers of different steels into a solid block, called a billet, and then folding and re-welding it over and over again to create the beautiful layered pattern on the blade.

The combination of layered hard and soft steels in the blade produce flexibility, toughness and tiny serrations on the blade that help aid cutting. These serrations keep the blade sharp and also provide some protection to the user when cutting.

The blade is forged from a 1095 & 15N20 high carbon tool steel with over 252 layers that are folded together several times. It then is dipped in Ferric Chloride which attacks the layers of the steels at different rates to highlight the Damascus pattern. This Stratified Damascus steel has a hardness of up to 55 HRC on the Rockwell Scale.

Weight

This damascus steel knife with antler handle is a heavy duty hunting tool that will stand up to the rigors of the outdoors. Its full tang blade and deer antler handle are strong and reliable, and the leather sheath makes it easy to carry.

The blade is crafted using genuine folded Damascus steel. It consists of multiple layers of high and low carbon steel, welded together and hammered to create the unique pattern.

These forged and tempered layers produce flexibility, toughness, and tiny serrations that aid in cutting. The blade is also exceptionally sharp and holds its edge for a long time.

When storing the knife, keep it out of direct contact with moisture and oil or wax to prevent rust. If the blade begins to rust, it can be easily repainted or restored with metal polish or WD40.
